Parks & Campgrounds

The Corps of Engineers operates 9 campgrounds (see map) on Lake Allatoona offering a variety of facilities. Most campgrounds have park attendants on duty to assist visitors. Camping in non-designated areas of the lake is strictly prohibited. Reservations can be made by calling the National Recreation Reservation Service at 1-877-444-6777, or by visiting www.reserveamerica.com.

Rules & Regulations

Registration: All campers and their visitors must register upon entrance to the park.

All camping equipment must be set up on designated gravel impact area or paved pullout. Occupying or placement of any camping equipment on a campsite which is posted as “reserved” without an authorized reservation for that campsite is prohibited.

The orange rental verification card must be posted on the numbered campsite post immediately after registering.

Camping permits are not transferable.

Camping and visitor passes must be displayed from rearview mirror of all vehicles.

Minors: Persons camping under eighteen (18) years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Camping occupancy is limited to a maximum number of six (6) people.  Due to limited parking space, the maximum number of vehicles per campsite is three (3) other than camping equipment.  This includes visitor vehicles.

Visitors are limited to a maximum number of six (6) per campsite in addition to the registered campers. Visitors must be out of the campground by 10 PM. From October 1 to March 31, visitors must be out of campground by 8:30 PM. Fee to visit a registered camper is $4 per vehicle or walk-in.

Check out time is 3 PM (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Check in time for a campsite reservation is 4 PM.

Camping Limit is 14 consecutive days or 14 nonconsecutive days in any 30-day period at all Corps of Engineers-operated campgrounds on the Allatoona Lake Project.

All motorized vehicles must be street legal and operated by a licensed driver on established roadways in accordance with State Regulations. No golf carts/scooters/mini-bikes, etc. Vehicles may not be operated or parked off the pavement.   No riding on the exterior of vehicles.

All garbage must be placed in the dumpster.  Do not deposit garbage in fireplaces or grills.  Keep campsite clean during occupancy and upon departure.  Do not leave garbage bags on the campsite.

Due to environmental concerns and water quality, gray/waste water from RV's and portable toilets must be caught in holding tanks or other receptacle and deposited at the dump station. Washing vehicles, camping equipment, or anything that produces gray water to be discharged on or around the campsite IS PROHIBITED.

Park gates are locked during the hours of 10:30 PM to 7 AM.   From October 1 through March 31, park gates are locked during the hours of 9 PM to 7 AM.  Emergency exits only during these hours.  (See Attendant on duty at campsite)

Noise: Quiet hours are in effect from 10 PM to 6 AM daily.  Unreasonable loud noise IS PROHIBITED any time.

Pets: Wild or exotic pets are not allowed in campground.  Maximum of two (2) pets per campsite and they must be kept on a leash no longer than six (6) feet. Pets are not allowed in restrooms, on playgrounds, in shelters, or designated swim areas. Pet owners must dispose of all pet waste in flush toilets. No person shall allow animals to bark or emit other noises that unreasonably disturb others. Do not leave pets unattended.

Fires must be confined to fireplaces or grills.  Only dead wood on the ground may be collected for firewood.  Do not leave fires unattended.   Extinguish all fires upon departure from campsite.

Fireworks, firearms, explosives and projectile-firing devices ARE PROHIBITED.

Lanterns should be hung on metal hangers provided at campsite.  Heat from lanterns will damage trees.

Designated swimming areas are not supervised. Swim at your own risk. Swimming at launching ramps IS PROHIBITED.

Sinks in restrooms and laundry rooms are not to be used for washing dishes, pets, etc., or for cleaning fish.

The use of any plug or adapter or the alteration of electrical breakers to exceed the existing amperage is not safe and is not permitted.  The U.S. Government will not be responsible for any and all accidents that result from the unauthorized use of plug adapters.  Customers using plug adapters assume liability for any damage to their own, as well as, to Government-owned electrical equipment.

Individuals in the campground may be required to furnish proper identification to Park Rangers.

Any act or conduct which interferes with, impedes, or disrupts another person's use of the project (boisterous, rowdy, or disorderly conduct), IS PROHIBITED.

Interference with any Park Ranger or Government employee in the conduct of their official duty is prohibited.

Failure to abide by these park regulations and restrictions may result in legal action, expulsion, and/or forfeiture of fees paid. The person registered for a campsite shall be presumed to be responsible for any violation of rules unless proven otherwise.
