Bass tournament to benefit Teach a Child to Fish

Whether you compete or not, bring the family out to be a part of the first Teach A Child to Fish event on Lake Lanier complete with former NFL Players and MLB Hall of Fame players like Braves Star Phil Niekro. Tournament Directors Kendall Newson formerly with the Miami Dolphins and currently a Pro Bass Fisherman and Bill Vanderford, the first fishing guide on Lake Lanier and an inductee of the National Freshwater Hall of Fame, will also be available to attendees.There will be prizes, outdoor vendors and youth fishing clinics on the site.
 
The event is set for Nov. 4 at Little Hall Park at Lake Lanier.
 
Some of the sponsors of this event are: Bass Pro Shops, Gwinnett Medical Center, the NFL Alumni Association, Holiday Marina, Strike King Lures, Laureus, BASS Nation, Lakeside on Lanier, Pure Fishing and Chasion Rods, Sport For Good Atlanta, Wounded Warriors and the Boys and Girls Clubs.
 
For those wishing to compete in the tournament, the entry fee is $250 per team. To register visit www.teachachildtofish.net. Here are the possible prizes:
 
  • 1st - $10,000
  • 2nd - $3,000 & $500 Bass Pro Shops Gift
  • 3rd - $1,000 & $300 Bass Pro Shops Gift
  • 4th - $750 and $250 Bass Pro Shops Gift
  • 5th - $500 and $200 Bass Pro Shops Gift
  • Big Fish - $1,000

Also, if you take a celebrity fishing for an extra $50 bucks and your team wins, an extra $500 Gift Card from Bass Pro Shops is part of the haul.
 
Proceeds from this tournament will raise funds for the buying of land for the first Teach a Child to Fish property.
