Hideaway Bay Marina bought by Safe Harbor Marinas

By Pamela A. Keene

Hideaway Bay has new owners. Safe Harbor Marinas, based in Dallas, Texas, announce the sale last month. Safe Harbor also owns and operates Aqualand Marina on Lake Lanier as part of the company’s 90-marina network across 20 states.

“We are so excited to add Hideaway Bay to our portfolio,” said Jason Hogg, senior vice president of investments for the company. “For the past 14 years, Hideaway Bay has been impeccably maintained and operated. The facility is well protected in sits just 10 minutes from our sister property on the same lake. We are incredibly lucky to add such a remarkable facility and high-class team to our company’s already deep bench.”

In 2017, Hideaway Bay earned the “Clean Marina Certification” from the National Marine Manufacturers Association. It is the only marina on Lake Lanier to hold this honor and is one of the few in Georgia.

Certification components include boater education, facility management, hauling and storing boats, fueling, hazardous substance and waste management, non-point-source runoff handling and recycling. Extensive documentation and paperwork was supplemented by a site visit by officials to the Flowery Branch marina. Before its own inspection, marina officials from Hideaway Bay were required to observe a certification visit at another marina.

The marina also undertook an extensive dredging and dock rebuild in recent years.

Hideaway Bay, a full-service marina, houses 850 boats in covered, uncovered and land storage. It is located in Flowery Branch at 6334 Mitchell Street. The website is hideawaybaymarina.com. For more info about Safe Harbor Marinas, visit SHMarinas.com.

Editor’s Note: Safe Harbor Marinas is not associated with Safe Harbor Development, which operates Margaritaville at Lake Lanier.
