Shore Sweep 2013 a success
Youngsters at Clark's Bridge Park wrestle with a chunk of Styrofoam during Lake Lanier Association's annual Shoresweep last month. Executive director Joanna Cloud said the event was "one of our best yet!" She said volunteers brought 58 large pieces of Styrofoam to Port Royale Marina alone. "We also saw lots of tires, a large tree, a paddle boat, and a porta-potty among the items hauled in," she said. Cloud estimated the effort collected 30 tons of trash by about 1,000 volunteers.
